§ R.2 — Insurance
Liberty-Underwritten

Underwritten against
systemic loss.

Every transaction held in Arkhive escrow is underwritten by Liberty — a principal South African insurer with a credit profile rated by Moody's. Cover applies the moment funds are received and remains in force until they clear to the recipient's bank.

§ R.2.1 — What's Covered

Cover that follows the Rand, not the calendar.

01 / Custodian

Custodian Failure

If the escrow agent or banking partner enters business rescue or liquidation, escrow balances are recoverable from the underwriter — not from the failed entity's creditors.

02 / Cyber

Cyber & Fraud Loss

Unauthorised fund movement triggered by intrusion, account takeover, or social engineering is covered up to the per-transaction policy limit.

03 / Settlement

Settlement Risk

The window between release authorisation and bank clearance — typically 1–2 business days — is fully insured. No funds in flight are uninsured.

04 / Force Majeure

Cancellation Cover

Booking cancellations driven by venue, state, or natural-disaster events are covered up to a defined sub-limit, reducing reliance on litigation.

§ R.2.2 — Claims Process

A path to recovery, not a runaround.

STEP 01

Notify Arkhive

Open a claim through the dashboard or by emailing claims@arkhive.co.za. We acknowledge in writing within 24 hours.

STEP 02

Evidence pack assembled

Arkhive compiles transaction logs, audit trail, and KYC records. No need to gather docs yourself — they're already in the system.

STEP 03

Liberty assessment

Liberty's claims team reviews under the master policy. Standard turnaround for in-scope claims is 14–21 business days from full submission.

STEP 04

Settlement

Approved settlements pay direct to the affected party's bank account. Disputed assessments may be escalated to the Long-term/Short-term Insurance Ombud.

§ R.2.3 — Master Policy

Read the terms in full.

Sub-limits, exclusions, and excess amounts are set in the Arkhive–Liberty master policy. Enterprise customers receive a summary schedule on onboarding; the full document is shared on request.
